Tribal communities in Jharkhand possess remarkable natural sporting talent, especially in traditional games like gilli-danda. Yet, limited infrastructure and training opportunities often prevent these skills from progressing to professional levels. CInI’s sports program bridges this gap by nurturing talent, providing structured training, and creating pathways for participation in competitive sports.
Beyond athletic achievement, the initiative fosters discipline, confidence, teamwork, and community pride—shaping a future where every player’s journey reflects the transformative power of sports in personal and community development.
Tribal communities in Jharkhand exhibit natural sports talent, particularly in games like ‘gilli-danda.’ However, limited infrastructure and training opportunities hinder the transition from casual play to professional sports.
CInI’s Sports programs aim to address this gap. This initiative represents a powerful effort to shape a future where each player’s journey signifies the positive impact of sports on personal and community development.
Our sports initiative is on a mission to nurture grassroots talent.
The goal is to bridge the gaps, providing training and awareness to create a more accessible path for talented individuals to blossom into professional players.

Basic level training after school hours is provided to students by 45 hockey professionals twice a week. The program involves eleven months of intense training in technical and tactical skills, followed by inter-school league matches and culminating in an Annual Hockey Fest with selection trials.
The RDC, our second-tier hockey development, professionally trains top players from Grassroot fests and trials. With world-class trainers and equipment, 30 boys and 30 girls undergo daily practice on artificial turf, guided by a dedicated coach and high-performance master trainer. Devoting two hours daily, cadets refine skills, adapt to turf play, participate in matches, and undergo re-selection and refinement processes. So far, 275 cadets have undergone this transformative journey, with 109 securing coveted positions in elite academies.
Selected RDC players advance to top academies like NTHA through our partnership. CInI ensures state-of-the-art facilities for rural-tribal hockey players, providing training in technical skills, mental strength, and physical conditioning. International trainers contribute to shaping these players into future hockey stars.
In our commitment to excellence, CInI has forged a valuable partnership with the Bovelander Foundation. Their in-depth technical knowledge and support enhance our hockey programme, incorporating league-level skills while appreciating the rich local hockey culture. This collaboration has proven highly beneficial, emphasising a holistic approach to player development.
